great little camper
By Brad Kuhn (I am an Owner) on Jun 09, 2016We bought this new in 2013 and have logged 25 weekends and a little over 5000 miles in it. It's just the wife and I now as the kids have grown and left home. We mountain bike a lot and love to travel to the mountains in Western North/South Carolina. Things done to make it better! I replaced the mattress ... with a regular mattress. I installed a wood shelf at the foot of the bed to put cell phones on during the night while they are charging and store things in. I replaced the propane tank with a 30# cylinder, I added an aluminum 24"x86" cargo rack to the back to haul my EU2000 inverter generator, cooler, and bikes. Loaded, we're at $3200#. Pulls really good behind the Escalade. Note, its not insulated real well so don't fool yourself. We've camped in 15* weather and the 1500 watt heater struggled to keep up... the furnace on the other hand kept up very easily. That weekend, we were dry camping along the Blue Ridge Parkway and I was on battery power (furnace).. the trailer was cozy but the vinyl floor gets cold and drafty. I love the 5000 BTU AC unit in the wall versus the ole 13,500 rooftop units. I can run this entire trailer, to include a coffee pot, the AC, all the lights with my EU2000 barely above idle. With the AC on, my little genny will last 9.5-10 hours on a gallon of fuel. Cons- no silverware drawer... or slide out drawer period. No hanging bar to hang clothes ( I added one to the shower area) and no plug in the bathroom where the mirror is so I added another mirror to the wall behind the kitchen sink. Check the piping where you fill your on-board water tank, mine leaked while I was filling my tank and soaked my sub-floor. I removed the plywood and replaced the green water pipe with a piece of rubber hose from Lowes... and double clamped.Rating breakdown
