Likes and Dislikes for my Sunnybrook 3121FK
By Richard Walker (I am an Owner) on Nov 24, 2013Having owned a few trailers starting back in 1973 with a used Coachman, then a new 30'Dutchman then a new 32'Prowler and now my new Sunnybrook I feel somewhat qualified to comment. When I bought the Dutchman I heard from a few people it was a cheap entry level trailer but I owned it until we purchased ... the Prowler and never had any problems at all. The Prowler had an issue day one with the hot water electronic ignition system and a few other minor problems but the main problem was water leaching up between the fiberglass sides and soaking the insulation and ultimately causing damage to the inside walls(won't go into the failed refrigerator with 5 lbs. of lake perch in the freezer, thanks Dometic). Now onto the Sunnybrook(always wanted one)my wife agreed so we started looking, she found the 3121FK. I looked at the things I would be taking care of and left the interior design, layout etc. to her. Ok now for the stuff you are reading this for: The good..Gelcoat finish is great, sealed under belly, good paint on exposed surfaces. All in all not bad. The bad: some of the storage compartment openings had little or no sealer in spots. There was and still is a hole when the slide in living room is pulled, dealer promised to check with the factory to see what can be done, that was Oct 28th,2013,still waiting. The vinyl strips covering the screws along the top rail and rear rails were cut short leaving exposed screws. The rubber seals on the trailer body where the slides mate pulled away from the trailer because the white goo(glue)was never removed. So the lower seal on the bedroom slide opening will have to be replaced, the awning over the front slide will have to be removed so the seal at the top opening can be cleaned and reinstalled, hopefully. On the inside the shower door mounts came loose again(they were repaired once prior to the delivery), the shelf in the bathroom vanity had not been secured so I bought some 3/4 round, cut it, stained to match and installed it. Couldn't get rear TV to work as a screw on the trim plate behind the front TV was installed into the cable to the rear which was grounding it out. It has a 10 gal. hot water heater that is great but when you turn it on the high pressure pop off starts to leak unless you turn the hot water on to burp the system ???. By the way if you buy one make sure the battery enclosure has holes in the bottom to drain the water if the cover has vents in it because the water drips off the front and runs into the battery case. I found this out when our touch radio-cd-dvd player locked up and I had to disconnect the battery to discharge the lock-up(disconnect the 30 amp service, disconnect one cable and touch it to the other post for about 30 seconds) fixed! The window shades(accordion style) are a pain, not only to use but adjust( wife wants the old style blinds installed)Thermostat could be made more user friendly. A/c works well, cooling the back and front very well. Furnace works well, a little noisy. Power awning works well as do the electric support jacks. This is a nice 2 person trailer as the couch with the air mattress would be ok for grandkids for short visits.....One or two final comments, if Sunnybrook/Winnebago has a quality control inspector he obviously dropped the ball on ours, maybe some more training is in order. Last but not least do the people who design and build travel trailers ever spend a weekend in them because if they did they would put the Microwave where the average person could reach it safely. Having said all of the above we do get complements, all saying how nice it looks. Thanks for allowing the rant. Note: All my photos are on my I-phone so they could be emailed.Rating breakdown
