great trailer
By michael pauls (I am an Owner) on Jul 18, 2017 -
Nice rig, perfect floorplan, a few minor initial issues.
By Jon Van Allen (I am an Owner) on May 03, 2013We have been looking for the ideal floor plan for 2 years, at RV shows, searching online, etc. Once I saw this rig, I knew it was the one for us.Previously we had a Jayco 262FK which was a good trailer but we pretty much wore it out. 30 ft total length is the max we wanted to go since anything longer ... won't fit in most places we like to camp. With that in mind, we looked for 30 ft or less length, decent amenities, good construction quality, plenty of water and holding tank capacity, a walk around bed, etc. The rear kitchen is a brilliant idea, no more getting in the way while cooking. The 26RK has plenty of ground clearance for off road camping. The L-shaped sofa is great and positioned to watch the ample 32" TV or just relax. We also appreciate the stand-alone kitchen table and chairs. Makes for more room and we think is preferable to a dinette. This particular trailer is a new 2012 model that sat in the lot and showroom for most of a year. So there were little issues like a scuffed area on the sofa, small rip in a window screen, etc. Those things are to be expected when other people have been looking at it on the showroom floor. However, there were a couple of other issues that may have been quality control related. The wood paneling on the fridge is not glued or screwed and almost fell out, fresh water tank indicator showed full when empty (simple reprogramming fix) and the inside door latch was faulty. These issues were corrected by the dealer. There are almost always a few issues on most new rigs, so I can't get too excited about these initial problems. We have no operational problems so far and find it a very comfortable rig to spend a week or two in. I really like the pre-wired satellite connection, I use it for our Sirius/XM and DirecTV. The TV is made by Jensen who makes RV electronics specifically for rough service while driving. Holding tanks: there are two separate 33 gal grey water tanks, one forward for shower & bathroom sink, one aft for the kitchen. Black water tank is 33 gallons. For us, this good for about a week while dry camping. As with almost every other rig, the water pump is loud. Do yourself a favor and get a Aquajet ES pump which is quieter, smoother and has more output. The high gloss gel coat is more durable than standard fiberglass finishes and shown to provide better resistance to delamination. I would have preferred a hardwood floor and fabric sofa but I got such a good deal on a brand new, year old, trailer that I settled for what it came with. I have no regrets. So far I am very impressed with this trailer.Rating breakdown
