As we reported last week, RV Shipments were up 7.9% in the first quarter of 2015, compared to the first quarter of 2014. That trend continued in April, which saw a whopping 13.5% increase compared to April last year.

The data comes from a survey of manufacturers done by the Recreational Vehicle Industry Assocation. According to the survey, towable shipments are up 14.2% in April to 33,884 unitis, while motorhomes are up 9.0% to 4,459 units. That adds up to a total of 38,343 units shipped in April of 2015, compared to 33,747 in April of 2015.

The RVIA says this was the 40th consecutive month in which RV shipments were ahead of the corresponding month one year earlier. As well, the RVIA notes that this was the best April in more than 40 years. Year to date RV shipments have reached 135,417 units, which is the strongest start to any year since 2006.
