Part of the fun of getting away from it all is that you can partake in outdoor activities you just can’t do in the city. But these things sometimes require extra equipment, such as ATVs and dirt bikes, and you need a way to bring them with you on your camping adventure. That’s where the 2012 Dutchmen Voltage Toy Hauler comes in. Offering a flexibility that’s sometimes not available with recreational vehicles, the Voltage gives you maximum comfort and enjoyment.

There are eight different floorplans to choose from, so we’ll be taking a closer look at the V3905, one of the larger models in the series. It has an exterior length of 42′ 7″, an exterior height of 13′ 4″ and a garage length of 14′. For water, it has a fresh-water capacity of 162 gallons, a black-water capacity of 48 gallons and a gray-water capacity of 114 gallons.

The Voltage is built on a 12″ steel twin I-beam chassis. Its one-piece, fully decked truss-style EPDM rubber roof features 5″ tapered truss roof rafters and residential fiberglass and radiant foil insulation. On the 3″ thick vacuum-bonded one-piece floor you’ll find 5/8″ Structurewood floor decking and radiant foil insulation, while the walls are made using welded aluminum sidewall construction and finished off with a high gloss gelcoat FG exterior.

The Voltage comes with a host of features that make outdoor living stress-free. This toy hauler’s standard power package includes an eight-function LED remote that controls the landing gear, rear stabilizer jacks and power patio awning in the central control panel when it’s not in use. As well, the Voltage’s expanded turning radius front cap includes a back-up mirror and LED lights to make hitching-up a breeze. In the utility docking station, you’ll find fresh and city water fills, black tank flush, by-pass valves, 100V outlet, light, cable and satellite TV hookups, and an exterior shower with quick control hose and sprayer.

Since the garage area is one of the main reasons you’re going with a toy hauler, let’s look at what the Voltage has in store for you. Designed with a 102” body, the garage features non-slip gas and oil-resistant Tuff-Ply flooring, 2,500-pound tie-down rings, a 22” diamond plate, heat ducts and metal Ram-Air vents. To keep your tools from flying around, there’s a dove tail storage box, and it even comes with an entertainment package (19” LCD TV, Sony 200 watt AM/FM/CD with iPod input, garage speakers, exterior speakers and an inside/outside speaker selector switch). You can even choose to add on the Happi-Jac picnic table/bed combo if you want to convert your garage into additional living space. Other garage features include a 3,000 lbs capacity rear door and a sliding glass door.

Inside the Voltage, you’re treated to a 7′ 6″ interior ceiling height, thanks to the super slide. To make it that much more inviting, the Voltage dazzles with puck lighting throughout, solid maple cabinet doors and residential brushed metal cabinet hardware.

In the living area, the voltage features a 128″ custom oversized U-dinette that converts into a queen size bed, ideal if you have overnight guests. The U-dinette also includes 18″ sofa extension, cup holders, loose-pillow cushion design and a store-away dinette table. There’s even a large drawer under the sofa for extra storage. To keep you entertained, you’ll find a premium entertainment system that comes with a Samsung 40” LCD widescreen TV, Samsung 1000 watt 5.1 Dolby digital stereo system with sub woofer and five surround sound speakers. When you want to crank the tunes, the AM/FM/CD/DVD player with an iPod docking station lets you keep the party rocking.

Functional and stylish, the Voltage’s kitchen has just what you need cook up a storm. In here, you’ll find a three-burner range with an upgraded burner, an 8 cu. ft. refrigerator with pantry and a residential microwave.
