Want to feel like you’re driving a 5-star hotel? It’s possible, with the 2011 Jayco Embark Class C Motorhome. Combining luxury and power, the Embark offers first-class living on the road and enough room for the whole family to sit back and enjoy the ride.

Available in two floorplans, we’re going to be focusing our attention on the QX390. With a sleep capacity of four to seven people, the QX390 has an exterior length of 39′ 1″, an exterior height of 145″, an interior height of 80″, exterior storage space of 201.6 cubic feet, a gross vehicle weight of 33,000 lbs and a gross combined weight rating of 53,000 lbs.

Jumping on the Green bandwagon, Jayco’s Embark does its part for the environment. Green certified by TRA Certification Inc., an independent, third-party certification agency, the Embark took the company’s top ranking. It has earned gold certification, thanks to the use of sustainable materials, environmentally friendly production methods, energy-efficient components and reduction of waste.

In the way of durability and power, the Embark is built on a Freightliner Business Class M2 chassis with an 8.3L, 350 HP Cummins ISC diesel engine, 3200 TRV six-speed Allison automatic transmission and 10-ton towing capacity. With all this power, the Embark can tow pretty much any boat, vehicle or trailer (it has a 20,000-lb. towing capacity). And with its M2 chassis, it offers a tight 55-degree turning radius, so it’s relatively easy to park and drive.

You’ll be enjoying the Embark for years to come, as this Class C motorhome uses TuffShell sidewall construction features, a light-weight welded aluminum frame, bead-foam insulation, and plywood and steel backer plates that are vacuum bonded for superior strength and weight reduction. It doesn’t stop there – it also features aerodynamic seamless front and rear fibreglass caps, thermal pane windows, and a premium full-body paint package.

To make it super tough, Jayco uses a vacuum-bonded lamination process for the Embark’s floor. This process joins the aluminum frame with a heavy-duty Structurwood floorboard, giving it a strong foundation. For the walls, Jayco has used TuffShell vacuum-bonded lamination that combines welded aluminum frames, high-gloss, gel-coated fiberglass exterior siding and metal backers. Overhead, the laminated, vacuum bonded roof is made of 3/16″ plywood decking on 5″arched welded aluminum trusses with bead-foam insulation and a seamless fiberglass shield that protects against moisture and resists aging.

Other exterior features of note include extra-large exterior storage features, deluxe, heated, remote-control, side view mirrors, a patio light with inside switch, a roof ladder, side-hinged baggage doors, slideout awning toppers, sliding battery tray, a heated and enclosed Uni-Dock utility center, sliding battery tray, hydraulic automatic leveling jacks and 120V Apex electric roof-mount patio awning.

Packed with features and amenities designed to make your life easier and family time more enjoyable, the Embark gives you so many great reasons to come inside and relax. With four decor options to choose from – Cordovan, Ivory, Champagne and Cashmere – that are complemented by hardwood cabinetry, it will be easy to understand if you’re reluctant to come home from your holidays. For even more room to enjoy your down time, the Embark comes with an electric-powered slideout.

Get to your destination in complete comfort – Embark’s cab makes the ride a cushy one. Because safety is a top priority, there’s a seat belt for every built-in seating position. A one-piece, 2,500-sq. in. windshield gives you a clear view of the road, while overhead directional reading lights shed some extra light upfront. Other cab amenities include a 12V auxiliary in-dash receptacle, a chassis battery disconnect, full-front cab sound insulation, intermittent windshield wipers, padded fabric headliner, privacy curtains, and adjustment and map pockets.

The living area is adorned with overhead cabinetry, a padded vinyl ceiling, residential trackless carpeting, decorative lighting and trim, as well as pillows for sofa and Optima leather hide-a-bed sofa. For your entertaining pleasure, the Embark has an entertainment center that features an AM /FM /CD/DVD stereo and 32″ LCD HDT TV.

Next to the living area is the fully stocked kitchen, outfitted with a 10 cu. ft. flush-mount refrigerator with ice maker, a GE 1.4 cu. ft. convection microwave oven with carousel, and a recessed 3-burner range with 9,000-BTU SuperBurner. Prep and clean up has never looked so good, thanks to DuPont Corian kitchen countertops with integrated sink bowls and high-rise single-lever faucet with pull-out sprayer. And when it’s time to eat, enjoy your meal at the freestanding table with four chairs. Other kitchen features include fluorescent lighting under cabinets, mini-blinds, recessed solid-surface stove covers, residential hardwood plank flooring, a silverware drawer that is divided for utensils and a water purification system.

This Jayco Class C motorhome’s spacious bedroom comes with all the comforts of the one you left at home. Before going to sleep on the queen-sized bed with pillowtop mattress, decorative headboard and quilted bedspread with pillow shams, catch your favorite show on the 22″ digital LCD HDTV. Other features found in the bedroom include residential-style dresser drawers, a large wardrobe and halogen nickel reading lights over bed.

And your luxury camping experience just wouldn’t be complete without a luxury bathroom. Here, you’ll find a fiberglass radius shower (with a skylight overhead), six-panel residential-style passage doors, residential laminate flooring and a Thetford porcelain stool with foot pedal. Making this room complete is DuPont Corian countertops with an integrated sink bowl, an overhead cabinet, a residential medicine cabinet, toilet paper holder, towel holder and ring and a vanity light fixture.
