Vacations are so much more fun when you can bring toys such as ATVs, Jet Skis, snowmobiles and dirtbikes along. And that’s when pulling the 2011 Heartland Road Warrior Toy Hauler behind you will come in handy. Offering plenty of room for your family and your toys, the Road Warrior lets you bring everything you enjoy the most along for the ride.

The Road Warrior comes in a variety of different floorplans, nine in total. To save you some time, we’re only going to be looking at one of these plans – the RW 405. This beauty can sleep seven and measures in with a width of 8′ 5″, a height of 13′ 3″ and a length of 40′ 1″. It has a gross vehicle weight rating of 18,000 lbs, a dry weight of 12,927 lbs and a hitch weight carrying capacity of 2,981 lbs.

In the building process, it’s important to note that Heartland uses green practices, which will be good news to eco-friendly RVers. The company reduces waste, increases efficiency and minimises any negative impact to the environment in the building process.

Built on a 12” I-beam powder coated steel frame, the Road Warrior’s wall structure is made of welded lightweight heavy gauge aluminum. The space in between the structural members is filled with block foam insulation and protected by layers of luan plywood and fiberglass. Then, it goes through a lamination procedure that makes it strong, lightweight and durable, ensuring it lasts for years to come. For increased aerodynamics, this toy hauler features the 88-degree Turning Radius Design. Not only does it mean that you can haul it with your short-bed, extended-cab trucks, but it also means you can back in safely to your camping spot.

To get to your destination safely, the Road Warrior comes outfitted with properly rated radial tires that ensure safer towing, longer wear and a better ride for your belongings. Adding to the smooth ride are triple 6,000 lb. axles with adjustable shackles and Dexter Axle E-Z Flex suspension. And once you get to the campsite, set up quickly with hydraulic landing gears.

Do you have lots of supplies to bring along? No problem – the RW 405 lets you bring it all with a large exterior luggage area that comes with sleek, functional slam baggage doors. They feature oversized pull latches that open easily and its tight automotive rubber seal protects your supplies from moisture.

The main reason you purchase a toy hauler is because of its portable garage area that comes standard. And you’ll be impressed with the 12” garage that gives you ample room for your favorite toys. It even comes with a diamond plated tool box that keeps all your loose tools from rolling around. It’s even big enough to store some of your commercial tool cases, trays or tool rolls. Other garage features include a 1” thick exterior grade plywood garage floor, steel D-ring tie downs, a 3000 lb. rated ultra-light ramp door, generator prep with a fuel station, timer and static line, 8” garage ramp door, basement storage and two Jensen JenX ceiling speakers.

Everything you need to keep your Road Warrior hooked up properly is in the docking center. This handy space holds all of the RV’s system hook-ups including the satellite, phone, cable; city water fill, winterization valves, and all-tanks pull handles. Another handy feature you’ll really appreciate is the built-in black tank flush, which flushes all the solids out of your black tank without the mess and hassles. That means you’ll never have to rinse down the black tank from inside ever again!

Inside the Road Warrior, the first thing you’ll notice is how much headroom there is. You’ll find six-foot-plus ceiling height in the bedroom area, and because it has taller ceilings, it comes with taller showers, wardrobes and overhead storage. On the floor, there’s Beauflor resilient floor covering that features a non-slip textured surface. Adding a stylish touch, all of the Cherry cabinetry is adorned with brushed nickel hardware and features spring-loaded hidden hinges that snap open and closed. And speaking of storage space, you’ll really love the drawers. Outfitted with steel ball-bearing drawer guides, they boast smooth operation, can hold more weight, and extend past the cabinet faces.

In the living area, take a seat on the sofa, which turns into a pullout bed when you need the sleeping space. Entertaining is easy with the Multi-Zone Entertainment System that comes an AM/FM/CD/DVD and USB/MP3 stereo. For meals or game time, gather round the dinette table for some quality family time.

Into the kitchen is where you’ll find a three-burner cooktop with oven, an 8 cu. ft. refrigerator (with Cherry wood fronts) and a residential microwave. Another cool kitchen amenity is its food preparation certified non-porous solid surface countertops. These solid countertops resist staining and don’t absorb germs.

There are plenty of places to sleep in the RW 405. Kids will love the overhead loft area, where they can giggle and tell ghost stories well into the night. On the other side of the RV is the master bedroom. You’ll sleep soundly on the Country Rest pillow top memory foam mattress that measures 12 inches tall and fits standard sheet sets. The master bedroom also comes with a TV hook-up, a huge front wardrobe and washer/dryer prep.

For your convenience, the bathroom is located right next to the master bedroom. It comes with the luxury of a porcelain foot-flush toilet, a residential neo-angle shower with a glass enclosure, a separate commode room, large vanity drawers, a skylight over shower and a power bath vent.

The 2011 Heartland Toy Hauler RW 405 Toy Hauler sells for around $72,700. For more information, visit http://www.heartlandrvs.com/.
