Not all RVs are designed to make you feel at home, but the 2012 CrossRoads Cruiser Sahara Fifth Wheel is. Its spacious living area, comfortable furniture and Tuscan maple finish create the perfect quarters for down time and alone time.

Fourteen floor plans are available, but we’ll be looking at the CF300CK, the homiest of them all. This model has an exterior length of 31’11” and exterior height of 12’6”. It has a dry weight of 9,052 lbs, a carrying capacity of 3,462 lbs, and a hitch weight of 2,114 lbs. Its total gross vehicle weight rating is 12,514 lbs. It has a fresh-water capacity of 58 gallons, a black-water capacity of 40 gallons, and a gray-water capacity of 80 gallons.

The Cruiser Sahara, beautifully designed to blend in with the world’s barren deserts, is built to withstand more than just the dry heat. Its one piece rolled edge rubber roof is made of R-27 fiberglass. The Cruiser Sahara’s sidewalls also have R-15 fiberglass insulation and two layers of Luan board, ensuring that its walls are perfectly seamless. It has a full fiberglass front cap and comes with 13,500 BTU ducted air conditioning. For those long, cold trips, you also have a 30,000 BTU floor ducted furnace. The Cruiser Sahara’s sidewalls, end walls, and slide rooms are equipped with aluminum tube 16″ OC studs and thermo foil. If you plan on cruising in extremely cold weather, a PolarTec Insulation upgrade is available.

The exterior is covered in Lamilux fiberglass, making your CrossRoad Cruiser’s beauty easy to maintain. The main door is a 30″ screen entry with large entry assist handles. If you want to install satellite, there’s an exterior cable and satellite hook-up. For outdoor adventures, you plug in from the outside using the 110 volt power recept. The Cruiser Sahara comes with extra large capacity cargo storage. And in case you’re not living in the desert, the 4” rain gutter spouts will definitely come in handy.

Inside, a 1/2″ foam carpet pad is covered by residential grade carpet. The 5/8″ lightweight tongue and groove plywood floor decking is built on 16″ OC aluminum tube floor joists and has an 8″ steel I-beam frame. As for the underbelly, it is fully enclosed, insulated, and has radiant heat.

Whether you’re enjoying a cup of coffee in the kitchen or getting changed in your bedroom, you needn’t worry about strangers peaking in through the tinted safety glass windows. For extra privacy, use the shades. Every room in the house has an electric slide system with individual room controls.

Have a seat in the living room and you’ll appreciate its residential-sized furniture, which makes it a perfect place to kick back on a lazy Sunday. Adjacent to the jackknife style sofa sits another sofa. It has a residential-style hide-a-bed with an innerspring mattress, perfect for an extra family member or sleepover. The room also comes with a lounge chair, ottoman included. As for the entertainment center, there is a 12-volt stereo so if you want to listen to the news or dance salsa in your underwear, you have all the necessary equipment (including shades for your tinted windows)! As an added bonus, the entertainment center lights up, so a disco dance party is not out of the question. You can eat your dinner at the dinette booth, which seats four and has a drawer for extra storage space.

The kitchen is a thing of beauty. Cabinet doors are made from Tuscan Maple while the pulls are oil rubbed. As well, cabinet drawers have roller guides with Tuscan Maple fronts. A black microwave and a high-rise faucet help complete kit kitchen. In the Enhancement Package you can also get a self-igniting three-burner with a cover. In case you’re accident-prone in the kitchen, a fire extinguisher is on hand.

When you’re ready to sleep, crawl under the sheets of your 60″ x 80″ queen sized bed. The bedroom comes with an innerspring mattress and two nightstands. Although the room isn’t big, it does offer plenty of storage space by way of a wardrobe with sliding doors and a chest of drawers. Even more storage is found under the lift-up bed.

The bathroom, located conveniently between the bedroom and living room, is standard. It comes equipped with a 34” x 34” shower, toilet, medical cabinet, and lavatory sink.
