2012 CrossRoads Elevation TF3612 Review
You want the garage, but you also want the living space. And you want to be able to tow it. That’s a long list of wants – and it’s one that the 2012 CrossRoads Elevation Toy Hauler delivers on. Designed to be towed by today’s 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton vehicles, the Elevation don’t scrimp on interior living and garage space.
With six creative and unique floor plans to choose from, it’ll be hard to narrow it down to just one to take home. But we had to pick one, so we’re going with the TF3612. This model has an exterior length of 37′ 11″ and an exterior height of 13′ 2″. It has a dry weight of 10,910 lbs, GVWR of 15,500 lbs, carrying capacity of 4,590 lbs, hitch weight of 2,400 lbs, and axle weight of 8,510 lbs. For water, the TF3612 has a fresh-water capacity of 112 gallons, black-water capacity of 40 gallons, and gray-water capacity of 80 gallons.
Built on a muscular one-piece, uncut I-Beam frame that remains continuously intact, the Elevation comes with a four-point, gear-driven Schwintek in-wall slide system. Thanks to its four-sided aluminum construction, this toy hauler is designed to weigh as much as 20 percent less than its competitors. This makes the Elevation is 3/4 ton towable, even with a loaded garage. Plus, with less weight to pull, you get better fuel mileage.
The Elevation comes standard with partial paint and gel coated fiberglass sidewalls, as well as an aerodynamic, two-tone painted front cap. Adding to its sleek look are a partial paint and gel coated fiberglass rear ramp/cargo door, black accent package, two-tone aluminum rims, and dark tinted windows.
You want to be sure that your hauler will be able to carry and house all of your toys safely, while giving you enough room to work. Yep, CrossRoads has thought of all that. The Elevation’s 22″ diamond plate interior perimeter and rubber floor ensures that the garage area is built tough. The 8′ ramp door with transition comes equipped with a heavy-duty, spring-assist fold-down gate so you can load and unload your toys easily. The garage also comes with generator prep and rear gate bumpers. You can also choose to get your garage fully loaded with a few extra options – 24” LCD TV with bracket, garage pull-down screen, Happijac power bed lift (electric bed lift with two sofas on the bottom), and fold-down workbench.
Other exterior features include a 15,000 BTU air conditioner, 75 Amp converter, cable TV hook-up, Equa-Flex suspension, EZ lube hubs, and electric power landing jacks.
You’ve got to come inside at some point, and when you do the Elevation does not disappoint. It’s 8′ ceiling gives you plenty of head room and really opens up this area. Enjoy the game on the HD TV that sits on a bracket, while you relax on the hide-bed sofa. If you’re entertaining, you’ll want to crank the Nitro Circus Custom Sound System that comes with a DVD player, sub-woofer, and eight speakers.
When it’s time to eat, head to the kitchen for some cooking – a 22″ oven with three-burner range, microwave and 8-cubic-foot refrigerator will get the job done. You can sit around the kitchen island, complete with two bar stools or head over to the U-shaped dinette. You’ll also find solid surface counter tops, generous cabinet space and natural lighting in the kitchen.
You need to rest up for the big day ahead of you. Catch some serious ZZZs on the queen-sized bed with a memory foam mattress. The bedroom also comes with a wardrobe, bedside tables, a 24” TV and night shades.
Finally, we come to the bathroom. It comes with all the essentials – shower (complete with a skylight), Fantastic fan, foot flush toilet, and lavatory sink.
