2016 Thor Venetian M37 Review
Thor’s website calls the Venetian a “Rolling Masterpiece.” As the newest member of Thor’s sophisticated line of Class A motorhomes, the Venetian is a beautiful ride with the comforts and amenities of a luxury hotel.
Built on a Freightliner raised XC-R chassis, the Venetian is powered by a Cummins ISL engine with 1150 lb-ft of torque. It has a six-speed Allison MH-3000 automatic transmission. The Venetian features a 160-amp, 12-volt alternator and 750-watt engine heater. It has a fully welded tubular steel floor system and fully welded tubular aluminum roof and sidewall cage construction. Other features include air-ride suspension, exhaust brake, one-piece windshield and Sachs shock absorbers. Its exterior graphics package comes in four designs – Casablanca Full-Body Paint, Dynasty Full-Body Paint, Gold Coast Full-Body Paint and Sentry Full-Body Paint.

Let’s start our tour in the cockpit. The reclining driver and passenger seats feature six-way power adjustment and three point seat belts, making your ride comfortable and safe. For privacy, the windshield is electric and comes with a privacy roller shade. To make your drive as easy and safe as possible, the Venetian has front mount chrome power mirrors with heat and integrated side cameras. It’s equipped with an air horn, emergency start circuit, cruise control and push button start. You won’t run out of space to store your maps and electronics – there’s an overhead compartment above the driver and passenger seats.
The Venetian’s interior makes you feel at home. LED ceiling lighting brightens the space, along with the living room pin-up lights and large windows. The furniture sits on polished porcelain flooring, which you’ll find throughout the entire coach. You’ll also find hardwood veneer paneling. The beautiful hardwood cabinetry is high-gloss and the panel cabinet doors are raised.

The living room is designed for relaxing. The leatherette reclining theater seating, equipped with footrest, sits across from the entertainment center. You can also request a Euro recliner with a desktop and fireplace, along with a leatherette sofa/air bed. The entertainment center features a 60” high definition LED TV and a surround sound Blu-ray home theater. The Venetian also comes with satellite dish prep, Winegard traveler HD satellite dish and an Entertainment Distribution Hub, equipped with HDMI wiring. Essentially, the Venetian serves all your entertainment needs.
The residential kitchen will inspire you to cook all your meals. You can store fruits and veggies in the stainless steel residential refrigerator, which comes with an in-door ice and water dispenser. You can heat food on the three-burner cooktop or in the stainless steel microwave convection oven. The kitchen sink comes with a single lever faucet with a sprayer. You can chop veggies on the solid surface countertops, while admiring your tile kitchen backsplash. When dinner’s ready, you can serve it at the Cantilever Buffet, which comes with four chairs and additional storage.

The bathroom has the essentials – toilet, shower and sink. The solid surface lavatory countertops are easy to clean, and the full height shower has a door. You can store toiletries in the medicine cabinet above the sink.
The Thor Venetian’s bedroom will give you the best sleep of your life. Equipped with a Denver king-size mattress, you’ll be able to crawl under your covers and watch your 32” LED TV in comfort. You won’t run out of storage space because the bedroom has a wardrobe, dresser and closet. The stackable washer/dryer will save you time and coins on Laundromats.
