2017 Newmar London Aire 4553 Review
Newmar’s 2017 London Aire offers the power and strength you need for confidence without compromising the luxe features that can make a motorhome truly feel like a retreat.
The London Aire offers seven distinct floorplans. We’ve taken a closer look at the 4513. It measures in at just under 45’ long, 13’ 4” high and 101.5” wide. It can carry 105 gallons of fresh water, 80 gallons of gray water and 60 gallons of sewage. It has a fuel capacity of 150 gallons, Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of 54,000 lbs and Gross Combined Weight Rating of 74,000 lbs.
Built on a standard Freightliner SL tag axle chassis (or on and optional Spartan K3 tag axle chassis), the London Aire has independent front suspension, hydraulic leveling system, and Newmar’s new STAR Foundation. There’s lots of basement and pass-through storage so you can load up for longer getaways. Large slide-out trays are a really great optional feature that takes some of the grunt work out of loading and unloading items.
Diesel fill tanks on each side of the motorhome will make service station stops that much simpler. There’s also a 3.77-cubic-foot freezer on a pull-out tray – perfect to load up food supplies and cutting down on grocery store stops. Convex exterior mirrors are remote-control operated and have defrost, turn signals, and cameras to help with visibility while maneuvering. The London Aire’s mighty 600 HP diesel engine gives drivers comforting power even while climbing steep roads, while the Comfort Drive steering system makes long driving stints less tiring.

Outside, the power side awning has a wind sensor, remote control & LED Lights to make outdoor living a little simpler. If you opt for the exterior entertainment system, you’ll get a 40” Sony LED television on a swing arm so you can view it from almost any angle. The Bose soundbar will make whatever you’re listening to sounds good: your dash radio, television radio, or your own music from your smartphone.
Stepping inside the London Aire 4553, you’ll notice the very comfortable 7’ of ceiling height and the oversized polished porcelain floor tiles throughout – even in the slides – lend a luxurious feel. Newmar offers four décor color palettes to choose from, as well as four hardwood finishes, allowing you to really personalize your space
In the cockpit area, the Queen size passenger seat with footrest is heated and has power-adjustable lumbar support, as does the driver’s seat.
Moving back into the comfortable and roomy living area, there is a large hide-a-bed sofa, as well as a jack knife sofa from which to enjoy the Bose CineMate home theater system, with Sony LED TV. It’s all Bluetooth compatible so you can also play music from your own device.

The dinette area has a slide-out leaf table and comes with two chairs, plus two additional folding chairs. In the L-shaped kitchen area with slide-out peninsula, there area plenty of residential-type touches, such as the solid surface countertops, herringbone pattern glass backsplash, and stainless steel double bowl sink with a high arc faucet with pull-out sprayer. The flush-mounted two-burner induction cooktop is actually portable, so you can plug it in anywhere. There’s also a 30” convection microwave, and a full-size four-door Whirlpool refrigerator with ice and water dispenser in the door. The large pantry has plenty of easily accessible space with its adjustable pull-out shelves.
Heading towards the back of the motorhome, the luxe features are carried into the half-bath powder room: a solid surface counter top, glass backsplash, and both under sink and upper cabinetry for storage.

In the master bedroom, the king bed comes standard with its luxurious custom-designed quilted leather headboard – perfect for leaning back while you watch the 40” Sony LED TV with Blu-ray/DVD player. Meanwhile, two speakers will amp up your listening and viewing experience. The in-room touchscreen lets you adjust temperature settings, lights, and more, all from the comfort of bed. Cedar paneling in the wardrobe keeps your clothes fresh and bug-free – always a bonus!
When you’re ready to get up and start your day, the master bath gives you a roomy, 50” x 34” solid surface shower with mosaic inserts and glass surround, as well as a fold-down shower seat. A double sink means you won’t have to jockey for teeth brushing position.
Washer/dryer prep and standard central vacuum adds even more modern convenience to your home on the road.
