Tire blowout - wheel well repair
By Greg (I am an Owner)I purchased a used 2006 Rockwood Freedom 190XR. The tires looked great but turned out they were 13 years old. I conducted all the required maintenance on the tires, wheel bearings, and loading. We ended up with a double blowout on 9 July. The plastic wheel wells didn't protect at all. Both wheel wells ... were damaged. The left side especially as the poor design of all the wiring, water lines, and connections are directly above the tires. When the tire came apart, the tire steel belting grabbed the wires, water lines, etc. and destroyed almost everything on that side of the camper making a 1' x 3' hold in the floor.Read More -
Lift system warranty
By Bill Boender (I am an Owner)When I purchased this trailer, I was told that there was a lifetime warranty on the lift system. The winch motor failed soon and was replaced under warranty but I was told that there would be no further warranty. This motor, made in China, seems to be good for about 20-25 cycles of raise and lower of ... the top. The motor has again failed and the supplier says the motor can not be purchased. You must buy the whole winch system. My solution is to buy a good battery powered drill and use the emergency manual lift. Costs less than a new winch and will be much more reliable! This trailer has been a good value overall after early problems were corrected.Read More -
Rockwood 190XR
By Cole BREWER (I am an Owner)I have owned this trailer for 2 years now, and like it more each time I use it. Love the power up and down feature. Heavy duty frame and great deck for hauling, bikes, coolers, wood etc.. Installed a marine stereo and an inverter in it. May be a small step down in quality from the Evolution pop-ups, ... but for the money you save in purchasing Rockwood, they are very comparable. Again as always a lot of the differences are based on colours, and slight configuration differences that are really personal taste. Great, fun trailer, and would totally recommend it.Read More
