Historic September for RV Industry

According to a report from the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association, the RV industry had its best September in nearly 40 years.

A total of 33,704 RVs were delivered to retailers in September, an improvement of 20.5% compared to September 2015. Towables were up 22.6%, with the biggest gains coming from folding trailers (+93.7%). Travel trailers were up 29.2%, while truck campers were down 3.3%.

Motorhomes saw an increase of 8.4% in September 2016. While conventional Type A motorhomes actually dipped slightly (-1.2%), Type B motorhomes were up 51.3% and Type C motorhomes saw gains of 12.1%.

Year-to-date deliveries total 324,286 units, a 13.8% improvement over the same period last year (285,049)
