Industry Figures Showcase RV Lifestyle in an Eco-Friendly World
Key RV industry leaders took part in the Forum on Stimulating Economic Vitality and Resource Conservation in Washington, D.C.
Hosted by the U.S. Department of Interior, the forum gathered top national and state tourism and park leaders on Sept. 15 to discuss ways to balance economic growth with conservation. Industry representatives showed how the RV lifestyle is evolving to maintain its popularity in an eco-friendly world.
RVIA President Richard Coon and American Recreation Coalition President Derrick Crandall took part, helping show how the RV industry is working to be more eco-friendly, fuel and cost efficient. Coon and Crandall also guided Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and Interior Secretary Ken Salazar on a tour of Winnebago’s new Via, demonstrating some of the new Class A motorhome’s innovations.
“We were delighted by the positive focus of the Administration’s comments at the forum – about its commitment to strengthen the link between Americans and the Great Outdoors. Both Secretaries noted the immense economic importance of the RV industry and related recreation businesses,” says Crandall. “The Winnebago Via’s eye-catching styling, exclusive features and impressive fuel economy were a real hit with meeting attendees.”
