RV Shipments Reach 10-Year High in March

According to a release from the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association, RV shipments to retailers totaled 40,740 units in March of 2016. This is the single best monthly total since March of 2006 and is 13.9% higher than February and 11.5% higher than March of 2015.

First quarter shipments of 2016 have climbed to 108,195 units, which is 11.5% more than the first quarter of 2015.

“On a seasonally adjusted basis, 1st quarter shipments were running at an annualized rate of more than 430,000 units, 12.2% ahead of the pace reported for this same period last year,” RVIA says in a release.

The biggest category gains came from Class C motorhomes (+29% compared to March 2015), Class B Motorhomes (+20.1%) and travel trailers (+14.9%).
