The 2018 Dutchmen Aerolite RVs are the manufacturer’s line of ultra lite travel trailers. Lightweight aluminum construction means that owners still get all the amenities that make a trailer feel like home without compromising on weight.

There are 14 floorplans to pick from in the Aerolite Luxury class category. We took a closer look at the Dutchmen Aerolite 294RKSS. It has shipping weight of 6,748 lbs and a cargo capacity of 852 lbs. It measures 11’ high and 34’2” long. The fresh water tank has a capacity or 52 gallons, the gray water tank holds 78 gallons, and the black water tanks can hold up to 28 gallons.

Two 30-pound propane tanks will keep you going for longer hauls, and a propane quick-connect towards the back of the campsite side makes it easy to set up your grill for cookouts. Roomy pass-through storage has an LED light strip running the entire length of it, making it much easier to see what you’re looking for. Dark tinted safety glass windows keep things cool and private on sunny days. Exterior features include a power awning with LED light and adjustable angle, strip, speakers, and exterior shower.

Construction details like covered hinges, a rolled roof that comes down over the sides, and a front cap that curves around to the trailers sidewalls make the Aerolite 294RKSS particularly resistant to water damage.

Inside the trailer, the barreled ceiling adds some nice dimension and spaciousness. LED lights are found throughout the interior, so they’re not kicking out extra heat and are also easy on the power usage. Right inside the entry door, there’s a convenient wall-mounted coat rack.

There’s an extra-wide window right behind the two wide recliners, giving you a great view of your campsite. A small table between the chairs gives you a place to put down a drink, and lights above make it a great space for reading a chapter of two before bed.

Across from the recliners is a flip sofa, which opens up into a comfortable bed for two. The cable and satellite hook-up and entertainment center face towards the back of the motorhome so it can be easily viewed from every seat, including the dinette. Speakers in the ceiling make for great acoustics while listening to music or watching a movie.

Beside the sofa, and directly across from the kitchen prep space, is the super slide, which houses a U-shaped dinette. At night, the tabletop drops down and it becomes an extra bed for two. Nice wide windows along the entire length of the driver side – behind the sofa and dinette – allow in plenty of natural light.

The kitchen, at the rear of the motorhome, is generously proportioned with ample counter space and a practical U-shaped work area. Countertops are solid surface and have built-in LED rode lighting along the periphery for mood or night lighting. The double stainless steel sink with high rise pull-down faucet has a cover that does double duty as a cutting board. Along the length of the counter, there is another very wide window overlooking your campsite. For cooking, there is a three-burner stainless steel cooktop with an oven, range hood with fan and light, and a backlit backsplash. Above the range hood, there’s a stainless steel microwave for quick reheats.

Keep your food fresh in the eight-cubic-foot refrigerator and freezer, which are inset right into the cabinetry. Plenty of overhead cabinet storage is available, as well as nice big drawers under the counter and under the oven that are perfect for pots and pans. A taller cabinet with shelves is ideal for all your pantry items.

Directly across from the entry door is the bathroom, which features a foot flush porcelain bowl toilet, shower with glass doors on a roller track, large domed skylight, vanity with under sink storage, and mirrored medicine cabinet. A vent in the ceiling helps move extra moisture out of the room.

In the bedroom, the bed is Aerolite’s version of a king-size, which is larger than a standard queen. Windows on each side of the bed give you a nice cross-breeze on warm summer nights. Each side of the bed also has mirrored wardrobe space: a hanging rod on one side and shelves on the other. There is a nightstand with outlets and USB ports on one side, and a cubby shelf along the headboard area. As well as the overhead cabinets and a corner shelving unit, the bed lifts up for extra storage.

The 2018 Dutchmen Aerolite 294 RKSS starts at about $27,600. For more information, visit http://www.dutchmen.com/.
